FRANCE
Public Consultation about AGEC law
The AGEC Law, law n ° 2020-105 of 10 February 2020, is the anti-waste law related to the circular economy. The aim is to limit waste and preserve natural resources, biodiversity, and the climate.
Fighting against gender stereotypes through toys
On 30 November 2021, the Ministry of the Economy, Finance and Recovery (Ministère de l’economie des finances et de la reliance) announced that the 2021 edition of the charter for mixed representation of toys was signed. The document brings together public actors and industry professionals and aims to fight against gender stereotypes from an early age through toys.
The assessment of the environmental claims of school supplies
In 2020, the DGCCRF (Direction générale de la concurrence, de la consommation et de la répression des frauds) investigated the school supplies sector to ensure the veracity of the environmental claims made by a growing number of products.
Safety control of outgoing laser devices
In 2020, the DGCCRF investigated outgoing laser devices and carried out a survey of around one hundred establishments in order to guarantee the safety of this type of device according to Decree n ° 2007-665 amended 2 May 2007, known as the “lasers” decree.

U.S.
Public consultation on regulatory actions in consumer products
On 18 November 2021, the Department of Ecology for the State of Washington opened a public comment period of 60 days on regulatory actions addressing chemicals in consumer products.
BRAZIL
New requirements for pacifiers
On 12 November 2021, Brazil’s Ministry of Economy/National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology published an amendment related to the Inmetro Ordinance No. 301 of 12 July 2021 which includes the requirements for pacifiers.
